Skrew is a heavy metal band that has been based out of the Austin, Texas area since 1990. Formed by Adam Grossman (guitars/vocals) and Danny Lohner (guitars/backing vocals), Skrew expanded its lineup in 1991 leading up to the release of its debut LP, Burning In Water, Drowning In Flame. Soon after, however, Lohner left the band to play with Nine Inch Nails, leaving Skrew to regroup. Grossman and the rest of the band added keyboards and drum programming to the mix, offering up a decidedly industrial tone to its established thrash metal sound. Skrew broke up in 1998 after a series of lineup overhauls, but was reformed by Grossman in 2009 to perform at Austin's South By Southwest music festival. The band's new music focuses much more on political commentary than Skrew's previous incarnations.
