Tres Mountains is an alternative/punk rock trio from Seattle, Washington, that got its start in the early 90s opening for a little known band called Pearl Jam. Despite a relative lack of aspiration for the big time, the members of Tres Mountains would meet once a year throughout the 2000s for writing sessions, until 2010 when the band finally had enough songs to release their first serious LP. The resulting debut album, Three Mountains, was actively promoted and contributed to by the band's old friends at Pearl Jam, and it is already causing a stir among fans of alternative rock who are proclaiming the band to be the true heir to the legacy of the alt-rock super group.
