Barcelona garage four-piece El Trons, or The Thunder, prides itself on being a reincarnation of 60s mod garage bands, but the Catalan version. Primarily singing covers of American, British and Spanish garage hits back in garage rock's golden era, El Trons translates these songs into its native language, but stays true to its genre and utilizes a hefty dose of fuzz, pop hooks and jangly guitar riffs. The group occasionally covers non mod songs - like the '80s hit "Tainted Love" - but always performs them as though they were meant to be '60s garage hits. A pleasant throwback, El Trons' live shows provide interesting and energetic takes on classic songs from an era long passed.
