James Hyland & the Joint Chiefs

James Hyland & the Joint Chiefs is a folk/Americana group from Austin, Texas that is led by up-and-coming independent Americana artist James Hyland. Unlike the fast-paced, bearded backwater mystique most Americana bands bring to the table in this day and age, Hyland strives for a more mellow and haunting take on the genre that has so far left critics and audiences entranced. The band's debut album, Celestial Navigation, is already thought to be an original milestone for Americana that may have subsequent acts taking a slower, more thoughtful approach to the genre.
