The beloved children's book Matilda, by Roald Dahl, comes to stage with the help of lyricist and composer Tim Minchin. Matilda the Musical follows the story of an extraordinary girl born into a less-than-extraordinary family - the Wormwoods are ignorant, dishonest and downright cruel, while their daughter Matilda is bright, imaginative and kind. As Matilda escapes from her miserable home life through school and literature, she learns that she has the ability to move things with her mind. With the help of her teacher, Miss Honey, Matilda embarks on an extraordinary quest to rid her school of its monstrous headmaster Agatha Trunchbull. After debuting at the Royal Shakespeare Theater in 2010 to critical acclaim, Matilda the Musical made its way into London's West End and eventually onto Broadway.
