Max Mutzke is a singer/songwriter from Germany who got his start in music with the funk band Project Five. After winning the talent show television series Stefan sucht den Super-Grand-Prix-Star in 2004, he came to international attention and released his debut single "Can't Wait Until Tonight." The track earned him the spot as Germany's entry for the 49th Eurovision Song contest in Istanbul, where he finished in eighth place. Mutzke released his self-titled debut album later in 2004, with a mix of funk, soul and pop elements in both German and English, and subsequently embarked on a extended tour of Europe.
