Born and raised in the very small town of Delavan, Illinois, Cody Diekhoff grew up in the type of environment that breeds American folk singers. However, after he developed his style of singer/songwriter folk, full of poetic and heartfelt lyrics, Diekhoff decided it was time to move to the big city in order to spread his music beyond the confines of Delavan. He then moved to Chicago and adopted the rather fitting pseudonym Chicago Farmer in 2003. Since then, Diekhoff has performed countless college bars, radio stations and prominent venues throughout the city, winning over audiences along the way.
