Montreal-born Marc Martel co-founded the Christian rock band Downhere in the late 90s. He rose to prominence when he auditioned to be a part of Roger Taylor's project paying tribute to Queen. His voice is strikingly similar to Freddie Mercury and this has gained him quite a fan following. His audition video has over twenty million views. He toured with Taylor's ensemble from 2012 to 2016. Apart from the two bands, Martel also has a successful solo career. The Prelude, The Silent Night, Impersonator and Thunderbolt & Lightning are few of his solo works.
