During the public's infatuation with ska and swing music in the 90s, several bands rose to prominence only to have the staying power and cultural significance of something like the pet rock or Gak. A few of these bands broke up, while others decided to march on into the sun and keep playing their unique style of music until the bitter end. One such group is called The Slackers. The band calls New York home and has been cranking out tunes since 1991.
