Around 300 ago, the French fur traders known as voyageur spent most of their time traveling across Canada. At the end of the year, these men would gather to let off some steam. This annual event has continued to be a part of French Canadian tradition. Much like the past, it is a time of historic tours, French folk music, dancing and mountains of food and drink. Events take place at various venues, throughout the city. Added to this are the giant ice sculptures that decorate the cityscape.
