Born in Oklahoma and raised in Texas, Ray Wylie Hubbard is a country and folk singer/songwriter who penned the 1965 hit "Up Against the Wall, Redneck Mother," made famours by Jerry Jeff Walker. He released his debut album Three Faces West, in 1971 and went on to record over a dozen albums with various labels throughout the next four decades. Despite a lack of mainstream success Hubbard's mix of Americana and Texas country music captures a southern narrative best characterized on his 2010 album, A. Enlightenment B. Endarkenment, which features prominent country artists such as Lucinda Williams and Kevin Russel.
