The Durham Bulls is a Triple-A minor league baseball team and affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays that plays in the International League. Founded in 1902 as the Durham Tobacconists, the team has led a tumultuous existence, disbanding several times, but also winning the playoffs several times over, its first in 1925. The team rose to national prominence in 1988, when a movie staring Kevin Costner and Susan Sarandon was made about the team, its players and the drama that exists between teammates.
