Woyzeck is a theatrical production written primarily by German playwright Georg Buchner. Though he died before he could finish writing the play, various scholars of his work later completed it for him. The story is set in 1913 and follows the tragic demise of Frank Woyzeck, a man who sells himself for military medical experimentation. He begins to go mad after having to live off of a diet solely of peas and eventually murders the woman he is romantically involved with. The play has been made into various film adaptations, including the 1979 version by Werner Herzog, starring the notorious Klaus Kinsky. It is a play created for mature audiences only.
