Höhner, what stands for "chickens" in the local Cologne dialect Kölsch, is a rock, pop and folk band from Cologne, Germany. The band formed in 1972, by that time called "Ne Höhnerhoff“ (Kölsch for "A Chicken Farm"), dressing up as chickens and throwing feathers at the audience during their shows. In 1975 the band renamed into their today's name, dropping the chicken costumes and in 1987 the first album Ich well no Hus was made and came out. By that time Höhner also established the strong connection to Cologne's soccer team 1.FC Köln, that still plays one of their songs before every game. Many of the band's lyrics still revolve around the city of Cologne, it's people and carry a local patriotism. So far, Höhner released a total amount of 26 albums and almost countless singles.
