The soft rock duo known as Air Supply is composed of guitarist Graham Russell and singer/songwriter Russell Hitchcock. The artists met in 1975 while working on a theatrical production of Jesus Christ Superstar in Melbourne, Australia and, along with Chrissie Hammond, they forged a musical bond and began to create harmony-heavy soft rock ballads. Hammond left the group early on, forcing Russell and Hitchcock to run through various band mates and temporary accompanists while compiling a steady stream of adult-contemporary radio classics along the way. The group enjoyed a period of strong stateside success in the early 1980s, racking up several hits including "All Out of Love" and "Lost In Love." Though Russell and Hitchcock both own successful solo careers, they continue to create and perform as Air Supply.
