To conclude the years Carnival festivities, a grand parade is held which begins on Avenida Rafael Cabrera between San Telmo Park and Teatro Pérez Galdós. The sardine, the veritable symbol of the spirit of Carnival, is ritually burned at sea at the end of the parade.
