As one of the youngest and most prodigious talents to emerge on the blues-rock scene in the latter part of the 20th Century, Kenny Wayne Shepherd has since cemented his status as a modern guitar icon. He was born and raised in Louisiana, where he spent much of his youth mimicking licks from Muddy Waters and B.B. King. Shepherd's immense talents are even more impressive upon learning that he's never taken a formal lesson in his life. The self-taught musician and songwriter has combined his love of Chicago blues with the sound of blues-rock stalwarts such as Stevie Ray Vaughan to create a catalog of music that resonates with several generations of listeners.
