Credited for being one of the few bands who carved a spot for black metal in heart of German music lovers, is Rotting Christ. The band was formed in 1987 in Athens, it spent years in perfecting and experimenting with multiple styles of music, before finding its solace in black metal. It had already created waves with Satanas Tedeum, but the release of the EP Passage to Arcturo in 2001 was the band's true breakthrough moment. Rotting Christ's love for taking inspirations from interesting ideologies like mysticism and sticking to authentic black metal, was evident even in its first EP. In its multi-decade spanning career, the band has released acclaimed tracks like "Demonon Vrosis," "Nemecic" and "Ze Nigmar" and has performed at festivals around the globe.
