From a very early age Richard Villalobos had a deep affinity for music. At age 10 he became proficient at the bongos and congas - enough so to contemplate becoming a professional percussionist. But a life dedicated to musical upheaval and live on the road didn't really appeal to Villalobos. This mentality changed though as he became more and more adept at electronic composing. His knowledge of rhythms influenced his style and many hailed him as one of the preeminent beat smiths of his generation. He released his debut album in 2003 and it was noted for its innovative approach and methodical composition style.
