Despite being a fairly marketable band, the New York pop-punk outfit Wheatus managed to get shafted from its record company and not have its albums or singles promoted. This altercation was bitter and a fallout ensued, with Wheatus opting to release its material on its website. While this was seen as a positive move for the band, the group has virtually disappeared from the mainstream music scene and is one of those acts that is out of the public's consciousness, but not totally erased.
