Johnstown Tomahawks was initially formed in Dearborn, MI with the name Dearborn Magic for the 1990-1991 hockey season. The team has seen many transitions in cities having played in St. Louis, Springfield and Wasilla since then. The team was renamed Johnstown Tomahawks when it relocated to Johnstown, PA. The Tomahawks, as a team, played its very first match against the Port Huron Fighting Falcons on September 8, 2012. The Johnstown Tomahawks won its first game on September 13, 2012, defeating the Kenai River Brown Bears.
