Few musicians own the bragging rights of having played a pivitol role in the British Invasion, and Ringo Starr is one of them. After changing musical standards as the drummer of the Beatles, Starr quickly developed as a solo artist and eventually collaborated with each of his former Beatles bandmates. In 1970, the same year of the Beatles' break-up, he released two solo albums starting with Sentimental Journey. His on-going and ever-changing project Ringo Starr & His All-Starr Band, played its first performance in 1989 with Starr on drums and lead vocals. In addition to his work on the Beatles' films, he took on acting roles and appeared in several movies including Martin Scorsese's The Last Waltz.
