The original bassist for the Sex Pistols, Glen Matlock bounced from band to band after being kicked out of the seminal punk outfit in favor of a drug-addled sociopath who couldn't play his instrument. In the mid-1990s, Matlock joined up with a band called The Philistines making music that split the difference between the snotty punk rock the Sex Pistols pretty much invented (and he was largely considered the driving musical force behind) and a more traditional, blue-collar classic rock sound. The band more or less disbanded a few years later and Matlock reformed it in 2004 with a completely different lineup and with his name up front.
