The Hypnotic Brass Ensemble is an instrumental jazz group made up of one drummer and eight horn players. The group is somewhat of a family bands, as all but one member are sons of jazz musician Kelan Phil Cohran. Born and raised in Chicago, the brothers started as a street ensemble before officially assembling as The Hypnotic Brass Ensemble and entering the studio in 2004. In between collaborations with artists like Erykah Badu and Gorillaz and supporting legends like Blur on tour, the band has been dropping a steady stream of fusion jazz records, includin 2013's Fly: The Customs Prelude.
