The International Organ week is today seen as the world's leading festival dedicated to religious and spiritual music. What is noteworthy is that the program of events is not only dedicated to organ music, but also to choral and orchestral music. Each year, the performances are influenced by a specific theme, such as Musica Sacrea Europea. An integral part of the week's events is the presentation of the Johann-Pachelbel Prize for organists. Performances are held at various churches throughout the city; some of the other venues include the Rathaussaal, St.-Sebaldus-Kirche, Lorenzkirche and Egidienkirche. See website for full program.
