David Garrett received his first violin at the age of four and within three years was playing in public every week. A graduate of the famed Juilliard School, the German/American artist recorded two albums at the age of 13 and played with the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra at 17. Garrett soon became a master of musical theory and technique, and soon branched out into more contemporary music--performing full orchestration arrangements of songs by artists such as Metallica and Michael Jackson. Garrett also set the Guinness World Record for fastest violin player in 2009, playing an astonishing 13 notes in one second.
