A Flock of Seagulls is an English new wave band that is probably best known for its 1982 song "I Ran (So Far Away)". Founded in Liverpool, England in 1979, the band would go on to pioneer a unique, synth and drum machine heavy sound, helping bring the group a large international fan base. Though band tensions forced the group to disband in 1986, the members of A Flock of Seagulls reconciled in 1989 and since then have managed to maintain a fairly respectable touring schedule.
