The second oldest St. Paddy's day celebration in the country (after NYC's) has its perks. The parade first ran in 1771 (making it older than the country itself), and with that longevity comes prestige, a strong sense of community, and a very prominent religious bent. Philly's parade truly is a sight to behold, as 500,000 eager spectators pack it in to marvel at the floats, marching bands, Irish folk dancers, and much more. St. Patrick's Church holds a special Parade mass. Please visit the website for yearly particulars.
