Mindi Abair is a pop artist turned smooth jazz saxophonist from St Petersburg, Florida. She began her career in 1991 after graduating from Berklee College of Music when she moved to Los Angeles, California. She started out playing small gigs, frequenting the Santa Monica Pier where she caught the attention of jazz keyboardist Bobbie Lyle, who invited her to record on his 1997 album, Power of Touch. After her initial breakthrough, she carved her way through the music world, garnering recognition and praise from musicians and audiences alike, with appearances on popular television shows, several studio albums and her own solo work, such as her sixth LP entitled, In Hi-Fi Stereo released in 2010.
