Frank Zappa was one of the most prolific avant-garde musicians to have ever lived. From his early days in the 1960s with his group The Mothers of Invention, up until his death in 1993, Zappa managed to stay productive by releasing a constant onslaught of interesting jazz-inspired, progressive rock. Ever the professional, Zappa was legendary for recruiting only top shelf musicians to record and tour with, and the music on any of his albums is blatant evidence of this. In an effort to recreate the impressive arrangements Zappa created, his son, Dweezil Zappa, created a tribute act in 2006 and since then the group has built a solid reputation for its dutiful live renderings of vintage Zappa classics.
