A Roscommon based Irish traditional band consisting of Rachel Garvey (vocals), Jacinta McEvoy (guitar and concertina), John McEvoy (fiddle and mandolin) and John Wynne (flute and whistles).
Since getting together in 2016 Gatehouse have toured extensively, gaining a reputation for their lively interpretation of traditional songs and instrumentals; frequently being compared to The Bothy Band at their best.
Their first album, Tús Nua, described as ?an unerring delight? received a five-star review and was short-listed for The Irish Times 2016 album of the year. Their second release, Heather Down The Moor (2019), showcased the band?s interpretative skills through subtle embellishment of classic folk songs and their ability to seamlessly blend the old with the new.
