Bonnie Tyler is a Welsh singer/songwriter who became internationally known in the later 1970s and early 1980s with a series of pop hits. Shortly after signing with RCA Records and dropping her debut album, The World Starts Tonight, in 1977, she established herself as a massive force of pop with the release of her 1978 single "It's a Heartache." The track set the tone for next decade of Tyler's career, which would see the release of the iconic 1980s staples, "Total Eclipse of the Heart" and "Holding Out for a Hero." She remains a music icon today, distinctive from other pop stars for her husky vocals and country attitude.
