Regarded as one of the most talented flamenco players in the world, Paco Peña is a guitarist from Córdoba, Spain who began mastering his instrument of choice at age six. Encouraged by his family he started playing professionally and traveling around Spain at age 12, capturing the ears of flamenco companies who sought him out to accompany flamenco dancers and vocalists. Peña moved to London in the 1960 to become a solo artist and subsequently exposed flamenco music to a British Audience. In London he shared the stage with legendary musicians such as Jimi Hendrix and soon garnered enough of a following to embark on his first world tour. He would go on to play some of the biggest venues in the world including Carnegie Hall in New York City. Fiercely dedicated to the precise art of guitar, Peña has released over two dozen records and founded the first university level course on flamenco guitar at the Rotterdam conservatory of music.
