The final resting place of many famous people from the city of Milwaukee, the Forest Home Cemetery sees both locals and tourists visiting the place on a daily basis. Built in 1850 and spread over 198.5 acres (80.3 hectares), the Gothic-style cemetery is home to the graves of well-known personalities like Andrew Miller, Carl Zeidler and Valentin Blatz. Besides the graves of these esteemed people, the cemetery is also home to numerous politicians and members of the social elite. Besides the graves, the diverse variety of trees, statues and monuments onsite are also worth a glimpse. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places and a designated Milwaukee Landmark, the Forest Home Cemetery is an important part of the local history and culture and a must-visit during your time in the city.
