Butter Slip, is one of the most picturesque narrow medieval corridors of Kilkenny. The walkway dates back to the early 17th century, and runs underneath two houses, has an arched entry with stone steps. The winding street is narrow and dark and connects High Street to St Kieran’s Street. In present times, the street is in good shape, and is an ideal way for tourists to soak up the atmosphere of the area, and at the same time get a feel of medieval Kilkenny. The street is for pedestrians only, and has a few souvenir shops and eateries.
