Piazza della Vittoria, Genoa, 16121
A monumental square, designed by the architect Piacentini, was commissioned at the beginning of the 20th Century CE to give a definitive look to the area along the river Bisagno. In addition to the rationalist Palazzo dell'INPS, which serves as a model for all other buildings, Piacentini also constructed the Arch to the Fallen in the center of the square. This massive monument rests on four corner pillars and eight adorned pillars, while its exterior is decorated with allegories. Dedicated to honoring the Genoese who died during World War I, the monument stands as a solemn place to pay respects and admire the architecture.
