This place aims to show you what life was like for Somerset folk in the 1920s - whether they actually spent all their time eating cheese and practicing crafts is debatable, but it makes for an interesting visit nevertheless. Here is the place known as Cheddar Gorge Cheese Company where you can find out all about how the world-famous Cheddar cheese is made - you can visit the cheese factory, watch the whole process and even taste the results. You can also try your hand at a potter's wheel, watch traditional crafts such as lace-making and candle-making, visit the fudge kitchen or head for the cider barn where you can see the south west's favorite tipple being made and even better, have a good time sampling it. It's also very close to the famous Cheddar Caves and Gorge, if you fancy a trip underground afterwards.
