Erected in 1982 and towering 240.5-metre-high (789 ft) over the city, the Rheinturm is Dusseldorf's highest building. The revolving, glass-fronted Top 180 restaurant is a great place to enjoy a glass of wine and watch the sun slowly set over the city. A viewing platform and a self-service restaurant are located one floor below. From the outside of the tower, visitors can enjoy the spectacular light sculpture which makes for the world's largest digital clock. A sight to behold as the night falls, the tower is a beacon of urban development in Dusseldorf.
