North of Lake Garda is the quaint little town of Arco, a magnificent facet of Italian nature and culture. Like an armor-clad soldier, the town is surrounded by towering mountains that seem to protect the city and lend it an air of comfort and security. The ancient Arco Castle is one of the highlights of the city and truly is a sight to behold. With roots that go back to the middle ages, the castle is a testament to the history of the region. The Church of Sant'Apollinare with its 14th-Century frescoes is truly spectacular. Adventure enthusiasts can enjoy rock climbing and windsurfing. There's something for everyone at the great little historic city.
