The New Montfortschloss, built between 1712 and 1720 by Christoph Gessinger and renovated by 1770, is a grand four-wing complex in the hinterland of Friedrichshafen. The town of Tettnang has been the residence of the Counts of Montfort since the High Middle Ages. The beautiful stucco and canvas pictures - often architectural paintings - in richly decorated stucco frames are remarkable. The castle museum shows the Bacchus Hall and various private rooms.
