High above the gorge of the Loup river stands one of the most beautiful villages in France. Exuding an enchanting medieval charm, Gourdon's location in the hinterlands of Nice lends it an idyllic atmosphere which draws visitors in droves. A defining landmark of the commune is the 13th-century castle which was converted and expanded in the 17th Century. From the adjoining terraced park there is an excellent view of the Mediterranean coast.
