In the spring you drive past fragrant fields of lavender and flowering almond trees, in the summer you can join in harvest festivals. In Valensole, which has retained the character of an old Provençal village, these include the lavender festival and the durum wheat and noodle festival. One of the specialities is the lavender honey - visitors to the Bee Museum can find out how it is made.
