USS LST-393 is one of the two surviving Landing ships that served during the Second World War. The USS LST-393 carried tanks, vehicles and the likes during the war, and it never required a pier or port to alight its contents. This 328 foot (100 meter) long ship was on duty from 1942 through 1946, and extensive repair work was tried on since 2000, but in vain since the bow doors were welded shut. Finally, all artifacts were added and restoration of most of the ship was complete and instated as a ship museum.
