Frankfurt (Oder) is a town placed in a very strategic position. The Oder river separates Frankfurt from the Polish town of Słubice, which was a part of it before World War 2. As a result the Stadtbrücke, the bridge connecting the two countries across the river, is a major landmark. Another place worth visiting is the Wildpark Frankfurt, replete with greenery and interesting animals like groundhog, red deer and more. For a real taste of history, check out the somber Sowjetisches Ehrenmal or the Soviet Memorial, a reminder of Soviet Union's contribution to stop the Third Reich during World War 2.
