Frankfurt (Oder) is a town placed in a very strategic position. The Oder river separates Frankfurt from the Polish town of Słubice, which was a part of it before World War 2. As a result the Stadtbrücke, the bridge connecting the two countries across the river, is a major landmark. Another place worth visiting is the Wildpark Frankfurt, replete with greenery and interesting animals like groundhog, red deer and more. For a real taste of history, check out the somber Sowjetisches Ehrenmal or the Soviet Memorial, a reminder of Soviet Union's contribution to stop the Third Reich during World War 2. Thanks to its fascinating geography and history, Frankfurt (Oder) manages to attract visitors from far and wide.
