Quakenbrück

Quakenbrück, a historic city with an industrial past, is an interesting place to visit especially for its old, half-timbered houses, which puts it on the list of few German cities with similar sites. A walk along the Poggenpad or Frog Path, is highly recommended. which is a series of frog footprints embedded in stone, taking visitors through the important places in the city such as the old Rathaus, Hohe Pforte, which is a gray-bricked, historic gate, and through the Quakenbrück historic houses. St. Sylvester church with its tall spire and the City Museum are also worth a visit, with gardens spread out throughout town for rest and rejuvenation.
