Auvers-sur-Oise

Sprawled along the shores of the Oise river, Auvers-sur-Oise is touted as a center for art and culture owing to the artists who have inhabited it over the centuries. A bevy of notable landmarks stipple its picturesque landscape, some of the most noteworthy among them being Church Notre-Dame de l'Assomption, Château de Léry, the historic Town Hall and the Colombières Manor. Museums such as the Musée Daubigny exemplify the artistic lineage of Auvers-sur-Oise. Among the artists who frequented the commune, Vincent van Gogh is perhaps the most prominent, having spent the last days of his life immortalizing the village in his works.
