TOURIST ATTRACTIONS & SIGHTSEEING, PRACTICAL INFORMATION
Sitting pretty amidst a seemingly never-ending expanse of Alsatian vineyards, the little village of Hunawihr is as picturesque as they come. The village dates back to the 7th Century and takes its name from Saint Hune, who is believed to have grown up in the village. The fortified Church of St-Jacques-le-Majeur perched on a hillock on the village outskirts dates back to the 14th Century has a commanding presence. The village itself, with its vibrant houses and the ancient fountain, is a delight to explore.
