Flanked by the seas Mar Grande and Mar Piccolo, Taranto is a popular fishing town in south of Italy. This old city dates back to the Greek period. The historic Old Town sits on an island that is connected to the mainland by two bridges Ponte di Pietra and Ponte Girevole. This island is home to several Greek and Roman structures like the majestic Aragonese Castle, the ruins of the Temple of Poseidon and the medieval Taranto Cathedral.
