This unique beach is located at the northern end of Monterey Bay. Despite its popularity and crowded atmosphere, the beach makes for a must-visit in Capitola due to its picturesque landscape. A fishing pier, referred to as the Capitola Wharf, juts out into the sea, providing tourists with ample photo opportunities. Its most interesting feature however, is the array of colorful vacation homes along the esplanade that lend it a European look. During warmer months, the beach hosts a flurry of activity, especially during sundown, when it hosts live concerts, art displays and even movie nights for visitors.
