A Benedictine abbey founded in 1138, the Abbaye de Valmagne was abandoned following the French Revolution. Gradually recognized for wine-making in the vicinity, the abbey is famous for the same till date and attracts a large number of visitors. Red as well as white wines are aged in what are the largest cellars in the area. Those who are completely enraptured by this historic site and gardens should note that many cultural events take place here and the site can be rented for conferences, marriages etc.
